We’re In This Together: Engaging Families in Early Psychosis Care

The effectiveness of family-based interventions for psychosis care has been known since the 1970s.  Psychosis impacts not only the young person at the center of concern, but the entire family.  Uplifting family members accelerates the recovery process and strengthens the long-term natural support network of the individual.

Objectives:
1. Articulate the rationale for family involvement in early psychosis care
2. Identify three needs of families during the recovery process and ways to address these needs
3. Describe MultiFamily Group (MFG) Treatment, an evidence-based practice that takes a psychoeducational approach to developing a healing social network
